Fine jewellery brand Malabar Gold & Diamonds has announced its entry into the New Zealand market, to bring the total number of countries it retails in to 14. The brand plans to launch three exclusive brand outlets in the country to connect with a new global customer base.

“As a globally recognised jewellery retailer managing its international operations from the UAE, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and New Zealand significantly bolsters our efforts to enter this new market," said Malabar Group's chairman M P Ahammed, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. "This agreement not only allows us to strengthen economic ties but also provides us with an opportunity to introduce our products and services to a whole new audience. By capitalising on the opportunities presented by this bilateral trade agreement, Malabar Gold & Diamonds marks a significant milestone in our overarching vision to become the world's number one jewelry retailer."

The brand counts more than 375 brick-and-mortar stores across the world, with its main retail base in India. For its New Zealand expansion, Malabar Gold & Diamonds plans to invest more than Rs 371 crore, Franchise India reported.

"New Zealand is a market brimming with potential, offering us an exceptional opportunity to connect with a diverse customer base that appreciates the artistry, quality, and authenticity synonymous with Malabar Gold and Diamonds," said Malabar Gold & Diamonds' managing director if international operations Shamlal Ahamed.

The business also assured that it will strictly comply with local regulations as it debuts in New Zealand. Malabar Gold & Diamonds stated that it plans to continue its focus on sustainability and the ethical sourcing of its materials as it expands globally.
