The ensemble takes its name from “ratna”, the Sanskrit word for precious jewel, and “rivière”, the classical necklace form evoking a continuous river of exceptional stones, bringing together Indian meaning and global high-jewellery tradition in a composition conceived as much for the world as for the wearer.

The necklace is a procession of perfectly matched 10-carat round white diamonds, vivid yellow diamonds, Colombian emeralds, and Burmese rubies of the most coveted pigeon-blood red. The gathering of round coloured gemstones of this quality and quantity across all three colours is wholly unprecedented; each stone was sourced, studied, and in many cases recut to achieve the exact scale, proportion, and rhythm the piece demanded. The earrings extend this intention through deliberate asymmetry: one pairing white, red, and yellow stones, the other bringing together white, green, and yellow.
