Jaipur-based luxury jewellery brand Raniwala 1881 partners with Francorp to expand its retail presence

Raniwala 1881, a Jaipur-based luxury jewellery house, has entered into a strategic partnership with Francorp, the franchising advisory arm of Franchise India Group, to expand its retail presence through a structured franchise model.

The collaboration marks a pivotal moment for the 140-year-old brand as it seeks to grow beyond its flagship legacy while preserving its commitment to artisanal craftsmanship and regal design heritage.

Adopting FOFO and FOCO models
Under the new arrangement, Raniwala 1881 will adopt both Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) and Franchise-Owned, Company-Operated (FOCO) models—offering entrepreneurs and jewellery investors an opportunity to participate in the evolution of one of India's most revered fine jewellery brands, the release notes.

"Our jewellery is more than just adornment; it is a representation of centuries-old craftsmanship and a deep-rooted heritage," said Abhishek Raniwala, Managing Director of Raniwala 1881. "With the growing demand for handcrafted Polki and Jadau jewellery, this partnership with Francorp allows us to expand while preserving our brand’s exclusivity."

Raniwala 1881's history
Founded in the 19th century by Rai Bahadur Champalal of Beawar, who was bestowed with the honorary title 'Rai Bahadur' by the British. Along with this title, he received the prestigious mark of 'Raniwala', establishing the family's deep connection to fine jewellery and craftsmanship.

The brand primarily focuses on serving the bridal jewellery market across India, particularly with Polkis embedded in 18-karat gold, catering to the tastes of Gen Z and Millennials.

It also has collaborations with celebrated Indian designers such as Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Manish Malhotra, and Rahul Mishra.

Bringing heritage to modern retail
The decision to expand through franchising comes at a time when India’s jewellery sector is undergoing a shift. Post-pandemic consumer behaviour has leaned increasingly toward branded, heritage-driven pieces, with buyers seeking authenticity, traceability, and design rooted in tradition.

According to industry estimates, the Indian jewellery market is poised for steady growth, bolstered by rising disposable income and demand for differentiated offerings in top cities.

Aimed at expanding physical presence
Francorp, which specializes in franchising consulting, will guide the brand through its expansion across metro cities and high-growth luxury markets.
