Inspired by the traditional lamp, Tanishq unveils Agalyam jewellery collections

Tanishq, the jewellery retail brand of the Tata group, this year has used Vilakku (traditional lamp in Tamil) as the inspiration to bring in the latest collection Agalyam. This is days before the Tamil festival Aadi Perukku season dawns.

Drawing from the rich visual language of Tamil heritage, Agalyam is a curation of jewellery that pays homage to the sacred glow of traditional lamps from the deeply rooted Kamatchi Vilakku and Pavai Vilakku to the Thooku Vilakku and Thattu Vilakku, said Arun Narayan, Vice President, Category, Marketing & Retail, Tanishq, Titan Company Ltd.

Each design is crafted with intricate detailing from Kasu accents and fine Rava textures to beautifully carved Nakashi patterns and classic South Indian stone settings starting at ₹60,000 onwards, he told newspersons.

The new designs will be available in the Tanishq stores from Sunday, he said.
